What made you choose the job you're doing now? How long have you been doing it?
I chose this job because I could not stand to see people bullied or victimized and wanted to stand up for those who could not do so for themselves.
Was there an influential person or incident that made you choose your career?
My father, Ron Marciniak. He was a former South Bend Police Chief and the best mentor I could have. I also believe that police work is an honorable job.
When you were in elementary school, what did you want to be?
I have always wanted to be a police officer since I was 8 yrs old but never thought it would happen. I wasn't sure if I was strong enough, smart enough or qualified enough.
What have you achieved in your position (awards, rank)?
I have spent the first 11 years of my career in the patrol division on the afternoon shift and for the past 8-9 years I have been on day shift patrol. I am currently a Crime Scene Technician. I have spent time in Computer Crimes/High Tech Crime Unit, the old NEST Unit and also a former FTO.
If you could be remembered for one (or more) things within your career, what would that be?
I hope that I made a difference in at least one person's life or made it at least a little easier.
Is there something in your life that you are very proud of?
Making the trip to Israel and visiting the Holy Land. It was AMAZING and a once in a lifetime experience/chance for me.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
I like to travel.
What is your favorite type of music, artist, movie, sport, actor or actress?
No doubt, it's the '80's!

Born and raised in South Bend.
