Investigative Bureau Investigating Tuesday (April 2,2019) Armed Robbery in 100 Block of S. Michigan

South Bend Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the 100 block of S. Michigan St. around 5 Tuesday morning.

A female employee was arriving to work when an unknown male suspect approached her, pointed a gun and demanded money from inside. As this occurred, a second employee arrived. The suspect threw both to the floor, hit and kicked them during the robbery. The suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.

One of the women, a 31 year old, was taken to the hospital for treatment. The second woman, a 22 year old, declined medical assistance and would seek treatment at a later time.

The suspect is described as a male, unknown race, between 5’8” and 6’2” and last seen wearing a navy blue jacket with gray coloring, blue & white jeans, gloves, bandana over his face and sunglasses.

This case remains under investigation by the South Bend Police Investigative Bureau.
