RESIDENTS INVITED TO MEET WITH POLICE, LOCAL OFFICIALS

The South Bend Police Department, Common Council President Tim Scott, and the group South Bend Neighborhoods will offer residents an opportunity to come together to discuss local issues with “Cops, Coffee, and Conversation” on Saturday, April 16th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at The Well Coffeehouse 2410 E. Mishawaka Ave.

The free program is designed for residents, officers, and city officials to drop in throughout the afternoon to get to know one another in an informal setting. Coffee and desserts will be served.
“South Bend Neighborhoods is a forum for residents to discuss issues that pertain to their district,” says Becky Kaiser, a co-organizer of the event. “We wanted to host a meeting where we could see one another face-to-face and foster a greater sense of community.”

Law enforcement officials say communicating clearly and effectively with residents plays an integral role in the success their daily operations.

“This is an opportunity to continue building and strengthening positive relationships with residents,” says Chief Scott Ruszkowski. “It opens another door of communication that helps officers better serve the community.”
