South Bend Police detectives are investigating a double shooting that took place around 12:10 Thursday morning in the 1800 block of S. Scott Street.
Officers found a male and female with injuries when they arrived. The female victim had a wound to the chest. The male victim had wounds to the head including a graze wound. The male victim is believed to have been hit with something and shot. Both were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.
Through the initial investigation, officers learned the victims were believed to be walking in the area of Scott and Calvert when an unknown male started shooting.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing dark clothing.
This case remains under investigation by the South Bend Police Investigative Bureau.
