Two Arrested Following April 22, 2019 Shooting on N. Portage

 South Bend Police arrested two males in connection to a shooting in the 3300 block of N. Portage Monday afternoon.
 

  • Sean Lott, Jr., 25: Possession of a Handgun Without a Permit and Resisting Law Enforcement
  • Deangelo Jackson, 27: Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of Marijuana.

 
Officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of N. Portage around 3:40 Monday afternoon on reports of shots fired. When officers arrived they saw a male, later identified as Lott, running from the scene. He was detained and taken in for questioning.
 
While on scene, officers were notified a male, later identified as Jackson, had arrived with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was treated and released with non life threatening injuries.
 
Through the investigation, officers learned there was a fight inside the store between Lott and Jackson. During the struggle, Jackson was shot in self-defense.
 
This case has been turned over to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
