Wednesday is the last day of school in South Bend and the South Bend Police Department wants to remind parents/guardians of the curfew ordinances in place for those under the age of 18.

The city ordinance that applied to children are as follows:

Sec. 14-6. - It is a violation for a child fifteen (15), sixteen (16), or seventeen (17) years of age to be in a public place: Between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday; After 11:00 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday or; Before 5:00 a.m. on Monday through Friday.

South Bend Police Investigative Bureau is investigating a series of robberies that have occurred in the last 48 hours in in the city of South Bend and surrounding area. The suspects in these robberies are described as black males, possibly in their late teens to early 20s

On today’s date around 1am, five unknown male blacks entered a store in the 1800 block of S. Miami. One of the males was armed with what appeared to be a firearm. This same location was robbed on June 5 at 10:41pm in the same or similar fashion.

The South Bend Police Investigative Bureau announces a man connected to the shooting of 22 year old male on March 31, 2019 is in custody.
 
St. Joseph County Police arrested 31 year old Derrick Lee on unrelated warrants Monday. South Bend detectives arrested Lee Tuesday for possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and carrying a handgun without a license.

South Bend Police detectives are investigating a double shooting that took place around 12:10 Thursday morning in the 1800 block of S. Scott Street.
 
Officers found a male and female with injuries when they arrived. The female victim had a wound to the chest. The male victim had wounds to the head including a graze wound. The male victim is believed to have been hit with something and shot. Both were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.

South Bend Police Department and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #36 will hold its annual Tribute and Memorial Service as part of National Police Officers Week for the 15 South Bend officers who have given their lives in the line of duty.

South Bend Police Investigative Bureau continues to investigate a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon around 4:30.

Officers were dispatched to Pulaski Park on reports of a shooting. Officers found the victim, a 17 year old male, in the 400 block of S. Walnut. The victim had non life threatening graze wounds to the arm and side. He was treated and released from the hospital.

 South Bend Police arrested two males in connection to a shooting in the 3300 block of N. Portage Monday afternoon.

 South Bend Police are investigating a shooting after a 28 year old male gunshot victim walked into the Emergency Room at the hospital.
 
Officers were dispatched around 6:50 Thursday night where they met with the male who had been shot four times in the legs. The injuries are described as non life threatening.
